Initial D

Today is the official screening of Initial D. And I already watched it yesterday! hahaax.. so what if i haolian. Anyway, I watched the preview screening at shaw towers, prince 1. It was free seating and hence being orderly and kiasu singaporeans, there were already two neat queues outside prince 1 when i reached at 620.(starts at 7) The queue turned past the lifts, shifted and extended all the way to "i-dont-know-where".

There was a bit of a mad rush up the short flight of stairs when finally they let us in. Then, quite a few were shocked by the size of the theatre that they stopped in their tracks and looked around or behind for their partners.

Its really big! With elaborate purple curtains on each side and its front, I instantly concluded that the sound system must be splendid. Well, and i wasnt wrong about that. One thing that baffled me is that the wide movie screen in front is curved but when motion pictures are projected on it, it is straight like the usual movie screens. mm..

One discomfort: Width of seats can be wider. The spacing between rows can be wider too.
I almost died trying to get out of my row to their toilets. I managed to in the end, but with several bruises on my shin. Thanks to someone who refused to make any form of a way for me to get through.

To the rest of the people who intend to watch Inital D,

1. Jay cannot act. Distinctly at two instances, he looks the same though he was supposed to reflect heartache and shock at one and confusion at the other. But still, i thought he did quite well. And jay fans get to see him from all angles and probably the only chance to see his maximised facial expression. Either way, he's super charming :)

2. The Cast. Jay Chou, Edison Chen, Shawn Yue, Anthony Wong, Kenny Bee and pretty japanese, Anne Suzuki. When do we get to see Shawn Yue being some small fry in a movie? Maybe this is the only one.

3. Production Cost. 20 million.

4. People who watched the anime say they combined all the different parts of the anime and made it confusing.

That's all. I would say worth watching. Having the dvd will be nice.

feeling useful

New 05S04 class outing was a great success yesterday! Six people turned up, including myself, and none were 2nd intakers. Lets see how we're supposed to bond with 2nd intakers. Make phonecalls or have video conferencing from sentosa?

Well, we decided to eat at harbourfront and then go to yunru's house to mug. Mug? yea, mug. 6 days from common tests and i have yet to start on anything. I guess i need the mugging session more than anyone else.

Took the bus and train down to je to mug with sec 4 class at about 2 cause i promised to turn up. And train down to outram park at 5 cause i promised charlene i will turn up for volunteer work too.

Then, i went to singapore general hospital. They are having this arts fest thing and we're supposed to wheelchair the old people people down from their wards to watch the performance. Meanwhile, offer them drinks and goodie bags. Quite interesting. Just that i can't make out what the patient is saying cause she has like only 4 teeth left. Felt rather guilty for not being able to help her.

Never thought i will do volunteer work one week before common tests especially involving old folks. I shun old folks home.

btw, I am really ok. I wasn affected at all. I was actually shocked that i wasn. Maybe time made me that way, cause i think i would have been affected 3 months ago. Not gonna go on about how i am ok. Makes it seem not ok.

I m ok

I wasn depressed or angsty. Did i sound angsty the previous entry? hahax. Well, just to say thanks to those who asked me whether i was feeling ok or depressed. I am really fine. I think i just realised i learnt to become metal, rather immune to everything around me.

To some who think i am plastic instead, either way, u got it right about me anyway. I really am no longer affected. :)

Perspectives

Heard alot of things from different people. People very different from me. And subsconciously judged these people. That was what i have been doing all along. Guess I never thought others would do the same thing. Never thought much about others judging everything they see me do and say, whether you like it or not, in their own perspective. If i paid more notice to others judging me by what i do, I would probably be a statue by now because doing nothing would also mean nothing wrong is done.

I dont really want to talk about me landing a post in exco. But one thing is that though i managed to secure enough votes, I know there are many out there who would not want me in the exco. Maybe next year, i would suggest objection votes, so the candidate who is at the extremes of people's liking gets kicked out. Perhaps that would be a fairer election.

Seriously, I would rather be unnoticed rather than disliked. Guess i cant do much about that now.

As for now, concentrating on my instrument and studies so that i wont let myself down is of most importance. As long as the people i care about know who i am, the rest doesnt really matter. Let the tongues wag. i am still who i am.

11:10 PM,

A Lousy Day

Well, not the worst day ever of my life but enough to deserve a placing here.

800. I woke up.

820. Left the house

825. Ran to catch bus 985 but missed it. I thought someone would flag the bus and buy me some time so i can board it. But NO.

830. Took bus 947 instead. Realised i didnt bring my ezlink card and i only had 40 cents.

831. Alighted after 1 stop. Managed to get change from a random couple at the bus stop.

835. Boarded bus 157. 10 metres after leaving the bus stop i realised that my flute is still at the bus stop. Got off the bus after pleading the driver to open the door at the red light.
Thank heavens its still there.

840. Took the next bus, 174. Well, it leaves me with not enough bus fare. And ya, the driver just let me pay less.

845. I realised that i might be late for band and smsed hanjie. Next realisation, i was supposed to come in full grey because of elections.

900. Pressed the bell one stop earlier. And no one got off the bus too. Tried to apologise to the driver who diao me through the rear mirror.

And i was the only other candidate running for exco who was wearing the black orientation tee. The other person was tess and she was not notified that we were all supposed to be wearing full grey. Which makes me?

sharon said the day couldn possibly get worse. she was right i guess. btw happy bday!

International Womens' FlOoOOorBall and Dance Competition
May 30, Monday

I went with ah heng to watch the above at ITE(East). Why in the world will 2 couch potatoes go all the way to simei to support such competitions? Those who know us well enough will know we barely exercise and cannot dance for nuts. Actually even if u dont know us well enough, one look will be enough to make u come to that conclusion.

Well, we went to support ah heng's buddy, stephanie/stefanie, who is a great dancer! Their dance troupe is called Funk`d.

I found the whole thing quite exciting though.
We were supporters of Finland because we happened to sit at the side of the stands which was closer to the entrance as we were to lazy to walk further. After 3 sets of 20 minutes each where
2 players flew out of the floorball court like superwomen flying at knee high altitude, uncountable others who fell to their faces tripping over floorball sticks, and one goalie who injured her nose though she was wearing a helmet, Switzerland won the game 7-6(i think).

And i suddenly realised that my brother is transferring there cause ite clementi is demolished, only after sitting there for almost half the game. Its at SIMEI. And I live at bukit gombak. Plus must walk super long after u reach simei mrt. Or an alternative is $3 taxi ride. How i know? We took the taxi cause we were running late.

Btw ITE(East) is like so super duper big ar.
Heng needed to pee and we spent eons just to find one stupid toilet. And that was only when we asked this someone.
Me: "Excuse me, where's the restroom?"
#: " Har? Restroom?"
Heng: "Eh.. Toilet toilet."
And he pointed some direction. And we found the toilet! Lights are sensor activated somemore.. High tech sia.. like nie..

Its was quite worth the 5 dollars. Alot of entertainment for the non-sporty people too. Oh and, when we bought the tickets from the juveniles outside the hall, they asked whether we are 18. I almost choked. Hahax we look that mature? Auntie power i guess. :D
