12:00 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2008 when karla said, "oh my god f*ck her. thats just nonsense" i thought if i should be feeling angry about this entire matter. why is everyone asking if i am angry about this thing. then i thought about why i ought to be more than just calm and emotionless about this. why am i not worried and stressed? why did i just take it in my stride? why did i not see it as a big deal? afterall it does affect me a whole lot but does not affect her. now i am really kinda homeless. too poor to move out and hence probably going to be stuck living with some stranger in warren towers. 6:12 AM, Sunday, April 06, 2008 21 Taken from wikipedia: 21 (also referred to in advertising as "21: The Movie") is a 2008 drama film from Columbia Pictures. It stars Jim Sturgess, Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth, and Laurence Fishburne. The film is based loosely around the story of a 1990s incarnation of the MIT Blackjack Team. Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess) is an MIT student who – needing to pay school tuition – finds answers in counting cards. In his non-linear equations class, he amazes his professor, Mickey Rosa, by correctly understanding variable change and correctly solving the Monty Hall Problem. As a superior math and statistics student, he is recruited to join a group of mathematically-gifted students that heads to Las Vegas every weekend with fake identities and the know-how to turn the odds at blackjack in their favor. Unorthodox math professor Mickey Rosa (Kevin Spacey) leads the way. By counting cards and employing an intricate system of signs and signals, the team can beat the casinos. Drawn by the money, the Vegas lifestyle, and his teammate, Jill Taylor (Kate Bosworth), Ben begins to push the limits. Though counting cards isn’t illegal, the stakes are high, and the challenge becomes not only keeping the numbers straight, but staying one step ahead of the casinos' menacing enforcer, Cole Williams (Laurence Fishburne). Keeping the story short, its a story with a very expected plot of a bunch MIT students who were very invested in the game blackjack and devised a points counting method to triumph the game. They brought their game to Vegas and tried to bring down the house. However my main point is not that its a great movie and thus i am recommending all of you should watch it. BUT Its is that ironically, the film was shot on BU's school campus instead of MIT school campus. So YES please watch it if you want to know how my school looks like. All of indoor scenes were shot on BU campus, like classrooms, hallways, the gym and his dormitory. Its kinda nice to know that oh-so-hot Jim Sturgess has been in the same space as I have. And so, watch 21 if you want to see how BU looks like. (: haha |
